Day 1 - intro to wine and wine tasting
On the first day you will learn about the history and current strucure of the global wine market. We will look closely at taste, what it is and how it workd. Finally, we will cover the basic mechanics of how to taste (and spit!) wine like a pro. In short, you will acquire the tools you need to start digging deeper into the secrets of wine.
Day 2 - white wine
The second session is dedicated to white wine: how is it made, what are the most important grape varieties and what do they taste like?
Day 3 - red wine
The third lesson covers red wine. You will learn how red wine is made, with which grapes, and how the most important ones taste.
Day 4 - around the world in 80, er, minutes?
On the last day you will learn about some of the world's most important classic wines, like Burgundy and Sancerre. What grapes are they made from, how do they taste, amd why are these regions so famous (and the wines so expensive!)?
David Poore is an Associate of the Institute of Wines and Spirits, the professional association for the British wine trade. A graduate of the prestigious WSET Diploma Course, David has worked in the wine business since 2007, after leaving behind a 20 year career in IT. A native English speaker, David is also fluent in Dutch.
