LAGAVULIN 16 YEAR OLD A much sought-after single malt with the massive peat-smoke that's typical of southern Islay - but also offering a dryness that turns it into a truly interesting dram.

Laphroaig 10 years old Nose: A thick coating of peat isn't enough to cover a soft, oaky background. Iodine appears alongside a pear-fruity sweetness. Delicate for a whisky so big.

Neus: zilt en zout met donkere turf en opvliegend zeewater. Eucalyptus en menthol verwarmen de neus nog meer. Smaak: rijk met een combinatie van witte kruiden en meer turfrook. Ook hier zijn de zoute invloeden prominent aanwezig.

Deze Bruichladdich barst in de neus van het zoete fruit (pruim en zwarte bes), aangevuld met hints van kruiden en koffie. In de mond komt eerst het fruit weer naar voren waarna er een prachtig samenspel van zoete en zoute tonen ontstaat.

Corryvreckan takes its name from the famous whirlpool that lies to the north of Islay, where only the bravest souls dare to venture. Swirling aromas and torrents of deep, peaty, peppery taste lurk beneath the surface of this beautifully balanced dram.
